It is our hope to eventually acquire all our instruments by donation. However, we felt that to really get off the ground we will have to be legitimate in our ability to meet needs from our inception. For that reason, we are in the process of buying somewhere in the range of 50 to 70 instruments to begin the 2010-2011 school year.
That’s where Chris Kramer of Kramer Music steps in. Chris owned a music store in Shawnee, Kansas that he closed down last year. He has decided that his passion lies with teaching music and not running a business. That being said, when I meet Chris, he instantly fell in love with what we were trying to do. He felt so strongly that he offered to sell us all the instruments, which he received back from rental pool, at an incredible price. So incredible that if we were to purchase all 72 instruments that he had in his rental pool, we would pay less that what many people will pay for a single instrument!
